It’s not a secret that I have a strong disdain for channels trying too hard to be positive. I couldn’t help but be cynical about it. Appealing to the blind pride that most people have in their respective countries is one of the ways to gain traction on YouTube. It appealed to the heartstrings of people who depended on this content to feel validated. And as much as I hate to admit it, this type of vapid content that these YouTubers provide is what makes them so successful in the first place.
Nas Daily got embroiled in a big controversy over in the Philippines in the past week. As he tried so desperately to defend his actions of making profit off of other people’s cultures, the voices of dissent gets all the more louder.
